A man is recovering after being injured in a fire outside of an Omaha middle school.
Omaha Fire and Rescue investigators are now working to determine the cause of the fire at Buffett Magnet Middle School Wednesday afternoon. Emergency crews were called to the school around 4:00. Initial reports indicated the explosion occurred on the exterior of a trailer outside of the main school building.
One man, a man working on the roofing of the school was injured in the explosion. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of burns suffered in the incident.
Officials with OPS tell 6 News that the building was evacuated. It was the first day back for teachers at the school.
