Omaha Convenience Store Clerk Shot During Robbery

Omaha Police are looking for a robbery suspect who shot a convenience store clerk early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. at the 60th and L QuikTrip store.  Officers responded to a report of shots fired and arrived to find a 50-year-old male clerk with gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the robber walked in and demanded money.  He grabbed the cash and some items from the store. Police say as he was leaving he fired one round that injured the clerk in the forearm and hip.

Police only have a vague description of the robber, a man of average build wearing all dark clothing. He was last seen running toward the area of 60th and Holmes.

The clerk is expected to recover.
