Driver Injured After Backyard Crash In West Omaha

A 23 year old Bellevue woman was seriously injured Saturday morning after her car left the road and crashed into the backyard deck of a home near 163rd and Center.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Omaha Police say a Ford Focus driven by Elaina Seifertdob, 23 was traveling east on West Center Road when she lost control, crossed the median and went through a wooden privacy fence on the north side of the street.

The car then launched over a 90-degree retaining wall, hit a wooden swing set and then the deck of a home near 163rd and Arbor.  Police say Seifertdob appeared to be unconscious and was taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment.

Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Family members inside the house tell 6 News they were asleep at the time and woke to, "the loudest thunder," they had ever heard.

The crash remains under investigation.
