Messy Morning Commute Leads To Dozens Of Accidents

It was another rough ride to work for Omaha drivers Thursday morning.  Slick streets led to dozens of accidents and forced Omaha Police to suspend responding to crashes unless someone was hurt or the vehicles weren't movable.

Traffic also slowed to a crawl all over the metro area leading to long delays in drivers getting to work. OPS officials advised parents that there could be possible bus delays due to slick roads.  One school bus was involved in a crash at 74th and Blondo.  In that crash a pickup rolled onto it's top. There were no injuries on the bus and the pickup driver reportedly suffered minor injuries.

A woman was taken to the hospital around 9:00 a.m. after her SUV slid off the road near 69th and Maple, went through a front yard and chain link fence and rolled into a neighboring yard.

City officials say contractors will be working to clear snow from residential neighborhoods through the day.
