Three People Injured In Monday Afternoon Crash

Three people were injured in a crash near 39th and Ames around 5:00 Monday afternoon. 

Omaha Police say a Dodge mini-van was eastbound on Ames when a Nissan utility van attempted to turn from westbound Ames onto 39th Street and the Dodge struck the Nissan. 

The driver of the Nissan, 70 year old Steve Knisley of Oakland, Iowa, received minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital. The driver of the Dodge is identified as 28 year old Farah Ali Diriye, was transported to the hospital for a head laceration. Two passengers in the mini-van were also taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment. The middle row passenger, 73 year old Terri Edwards, was treated for a fractured hand. The backseat passenger, 70 year old Bonnie Edwards, sustained facial fractures.
