Huskers Face Tough Schedules For 2020 & 2021 Seasons

The Big Ten has announced the football schedules for the 2020 and 2021 season, and the Huskers will see some big shake-ups going forward.

For the first time since 2003, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will open the 2020 season against conference foe, Purdue. Nebraska last opened their season against a conference opponent when they were in the big 12 and played Oklahoma State.

Other big changes come in the season closer, since joining the Big Ten Nebraska has played their regular season closer against Iowa on the Friday after Thanksgiving. In 2020 and 2021 Nebraska will face Minnesota on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Nebraska has not ended their regular season with a Saturday game since 1989.

The 2020 and 2021 home schedules will prove to be quite the challenge for the Big Red. In the 2020 season Nebraska will host Purdue, Illinois, Penn State and Minnesota at home and will face Northwestern, Rutgers, Ohio State, Iowa and Wisconsin on the road.

The Husker's 2021 schedule will bring some of the biggest names in the Big Ten to Lincoln with Nebraska facing Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin at Memorial Stadium. Nebraska will travel to Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois and Minnesota to round out the 2021 schedule.
