Husker Legend Helps Make New Playground Possible

Hundreds of happy Hillside elementary students got to try out their brand new playground Wednesday afternoon near 75th and Western.

On hand for the dedication was former Husker and Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch.  He and United Health Care donated the equipment to the school in an effort to keep kids active and promote a healthy lifestyle.

United donated $20-thousand to Crouch's Dreambuilders program.  "Giving kids access to new playground equipment where they can play and stay active is something I get excited about."

Crouch told the kids that playground are where he started his journey into a life of being physically fit. Dreambuilders is a non-profit organization that works with pro athletes across the country to help financially, physically and mentally-challenged kids receive the items, opportunities and equipment they need to reach their dreams.
