Family Of Murder Victim Looking For Answers

Omaha Police continue their search for suspects after 44 year old Jason Davis was shot and killed Monday night.  He was found lying in the street near 19th and Washington around 9:30.

His sudden death has left his grieving family searching for answers. “I'm just in shock,” says Davis’ 24 year old  stepson Richard Orris.  “The hardest part is my brothers wondering why they don't got a dad anymore.”

Orris and his three brothers are now only left with fond memories of their dad. “He raised me from the time I was three years old. Took me in as his own,"  Orris says.

The eldest of the four boys, Orris says Davis had a great relationship with all his boys. “He was there for my brothers,” he said.  “He was really big on family. He was there for anybody who needed him.  He believed in principles and morals and he was just a great all-around person...it shouldn't have been like this.”

Investigators says the initial disturbance call came from a house at 18th and Washington.  Police found a trail of blood coming from the house at 18th and Washington.

A second man, 30-year-old Justin Huskey, was also shot. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Omaha Police say the suspects were young Hispanic men who were seen in a white Cadillac with shiny rims.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime stoppers at 444-STOP. Information that leads to an arrest is eligible for a $25,000 reward.
