Suspect Identified In Armed Standoff

There were tense moments Thursday night as Omaha Police negotiated for hours with an armed man barricaded in his house.

Omaha Police say officers were dispatched to a home near 11th and Hickory just after 7:00 for a report of a man who was possibly armed and had a hostage.

A negotiator was able to make contact with the suspect, 37 year old Eric Stratman, and after four hours Stratman exited the house with a knife. Police further negotiated with Stratman, he dropped the knife and officers were able to peacefully end the situation.

A victim in the situation is identified as 21 year old Adriann Davis.

Stratman was booked into Douglas County Corrections for False Imprisonment, Sexual Assault and Strangulation.
