A woman is recovering after crashing her car into Lake Cunningham. Omaha Police say 30 year old Trina Charon lost control of her car around 10:30 Sunday night near 91st and Bennington Road.
The vehicle struck several reflective lane closure posts before hitting a bridge guard rail, vaulting into the air and landing upside down in the lake.
Charon was able to swim to shore and eventually taken to the hospital with a broken arm and ribs. Police said she admitted to smoking marijuana and methamphetamine prior to the crash.
Charges are pending.
