Omaha Police say they found a gunshot victim inside a vehicle during a traffic stop Monday night along Highway 75.
Officers were first called to 2440 Himebaugh Avenue on a report of shots fired just before 8 p.m. Witnesses told officers a black Yukon SUV and a red car were involved and both fled the scene.
Officers located the black Yukon SUV near Highway 75 and Lake Street which was occupied by a male driver and female passenger.
Police say the male driver was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP.
