Omaha Police were called to 60th and Center around 10:30 Monday morning after someone reported that a female was breaking into a car and possibly stealing items.
Omaha Police tell NewsRadio 1110 KFAB they made contact with the woman and placed her in handcuffs inside a cruiser.
The woman managed to slip her hand out of one of the cuffs and took off running with the cuffs still attached to her other wrist.
Residents living near 60th and Spring called 911 and reported a woman running in the area and jumping fences.
After about a two block foot pursuit, the woman was arrested in the front yard of a home. Police say while in custody the woman became unresponsive. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
