An Omaha police officer was injured when his cruiser was hit from behind early Friday morning.  

An SUV struck the cruiser while the officer was on a radio call near 42nd and Sprague.  

Other officers in the area were able to pursue the vehicle and attempted to stop the SUV when it struck a pole a few blocks away near 34th and Pratt Street and another vehicle at the intersection of J.A. Creighton & Pratt St.  

The SUV ended up on it's top and the two suspects were both transported to Creighton Alegent Health Center, in critical condition.  

The officer hit from behind received only minor injuries.  

No names have been released.
