The 34th U-S Senior Open golf tournament is being held in Nebraska for the first time ever. On Sunday fans got to purchase hats, shirts, blankets and other merchandise stamped with the U-S Senior Open logo.
On Monday the first of three practice rounds began. The tournament begins on Thursday. Tournament Director Liz Leckenby told the KFAB Good Morning Show Monday fans will have a better chance of getting up close and personal with their favorite golfer during the practice rounds, which is a much more relaxed and laid back atmosphere.
Leckenby says fans can bring cameras onto the course, but cell phones are not allowed. She says two tents will be set up where fans can check e-mails and make phone calls.
Leckenby says they believe they can accomodate up to 30- thousand fans each day. Fans coming to the Omaha Country Club need to park at the North Omaha Airport just north of the 72nd Street exit off of I-680.
