Two Omaha businesses and the apartments above them suffered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage Sunday morning.
The two-alarm fire near 83rd and Blondo was reported around 10 a.m.
It took more than an hour to bring the fire under control.
According to firefighters, the blaze started in the Treasure Mart Collectibles, then spread to Dragon's Lair Comics through a concealed pipe.
It caused more than $300,000 worth of damage to the attic space and roof of the building.
Six people, who live in the apartments above the businesses, were able to escape safely.
A firefighter was taken to the hospital for a knee injury; he was treated and released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
