Second Suspect In Fundraiser Theft Found

Omaha Police have arrested a second person in connection with the theft of items from a charity event to raise money for the family of murder victim Andrea Kruger.

26-year-old Kristin Hunt was arrested on Tuesday.  Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies had already arrested and charged 50-year-old Jeffrey Johnson on suspicion of felony theft.

On Friday, September 27, the Deja Vu Lounge, where Kruger had worked, hosted a fundraising event and the organizers later discovered that a 50" plasma television and a framed picture of the University of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium had been stolen. The items had an estimate value of more than $700.

Authorities say Johnson and Hunt sold the stolen items to EZ Money Pawn Shop. Investigators say the pawn shop will return the property to the rightful owners.
