A homeless man suspected in the murder of a homeless woman is now behind bars. 33 year old Sonny DeLong was arrested by Omaha police Thursday. He is charged with criminal homicide and 1st Degree Arson in the death of 30 year old Amanda Brown. Both frequently stayed at an Omaha homeless shelter and were last seen together.
On Tuesday, May 6th, Omaha police were called to 14th and Mason Streets by the Omaha Fire Department battling a brush fire. Firefighters had discovered the body of a female in a wooded area by railroad tracks. That area was known as a gathering place for transients.
