The Omaha Public Power District reports their annual test of the siren alert system at theFort Calhoun Nuclear Power Station was a success.  The test was conducted Tuesday morning and all 101 radio-controlled sirens functioned properly.  All of the sirens are located within a 10 mile radius of the plant.


The sirens are designed to alert those who live and work within 10 miles of the power station in case there is an emergency at the facility.
