The first round of storms targeting the Omaha metro area brought heavy rain, large hail and strong wind.  Newsradio 1110 KFAB received reports of softball sized hail in several locations.

Many vehicles were damaged by the large hail and street flooding was a big issue during the evening commute.  Windows were broken in homes in Ft. Calhoun and there was a lot of property damage reported in one location near Underwood, Iowa.

As of 5:30, OPPD reports 2,874 customers were without power in Douglas County and just over 650 in Washington County.

This damage was from the first round of storms in what appears to be a strong system that is moving toward the eastern Nebraska.
