A carjacking suspect was arrested Saturday night after a lengthy car chase that took the police into Iowa and back into Nebraska.
The suspect, 28-year-old Allen Williams, was finally arrested after crashing the car in a backyard near 108th and "V."
When the vehicle stopped, there was a brief standoff, and shots were fired, but no one was hurt and the suspect was taken into custody.
The ordeal began Friday night when police were called to a domestic disturbance near 39th and Burdette.
Around 8:30 p.m. police were told a man armed with a gun was assaulting a woman, who said Williams had been drinking and using drugs.
Officers spotted Williams driving away from the scene and a brief chase ensued, but Williams got away. The assault victim, 25-year-old Angie Blunt, was taken to the hospital.
Williams was booked for use of a weapon to commit a felony and several other charges.
