Less than a week after one of the most powerful storms hit land, Kids Against Hunger in Omaha is looking for local volunteers to help pack food that will be sent to survivors in the Philippines.
Co-Director Kelly Jo Yaksich tells Newsradio 1110 KFAB they are partnering with International Care Ministries in the Philippines to get them the food they need.
Yaksich says on Saturday, they will load up their vitamin fortified food packs to send to the Phillipines. They are asking for volunteers to help them pack or make at least a $25 tax deductible donation to help with the food and shipping costs.
The Pack for the Philippines event will be Saturday from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Omar Building at 4383 Nicholas Street. You can RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org
Donation can be made through PayPal on their website at www.omahakah.com or you can mail a check to: Kids Against Hunger, 12601 Meredith Avenue, Omaha NE 68164
