Omaha Mayor Grants Pig Pardon

Omaha Mayor Grants Pig Pardon

Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert used her power on Wednesday to pardon a pig named "Sal" on behalf of the Salvation Army's second annual Baconfest on September 7th.

Sal belongs to a family from Litchfield, Nebraska.   BaconFest is a day of music, games, vendors, and,  of course, plenty of bacon.

It will run from 1-6 p.m. at the Kroc Center in south Omaha.  Proceeds will go to the Kroc Scholarship Fund, which keeps memberships and programs affordable for the community and provides scholarships for Omaha families in need.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-17.  Children under four get in free.
