Omaha City Attorney Reviews MECA Agreement

Omaha City Attorney Paul Kratz responded to a request to review the agreement between Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority and the City of Omaha after recent developments involving the MECA Board of Directors.

A letter was sent to the MECA board giving them a 30 day notice to "cure and possible termination of the Agreement between the City and MECA if a cure is not achieved."

This follows a decision by the MECA Board on Tuesday when they voted to extend their terms from 5 to 7 years.  The contract with the City of Omaha clearly states the terms are for five years.

The letter from Kratz was sent to John Lund, the MECA Board Chairman.
