A scammer claiming to be with the Omaha Public Power District threatened to cut off the power at Orsi's Bakery and Pizzeria... unless they paid what the caller claimed was an outstanding bill.

Owner Jim Hall said he knew it was a scam, because "he had a middle Eastern accent and you could hear other people in the room, like a phone bank, saying the same things."

Hall knew his OPPD bill was up to date, and told the caller he used to work for the utility and knew their policy.

OPPD asks customers if they get one of these calls to hang up and call the utility.
