Developers have set aside plans to build 430 apartment units on the former Temple Israel site near 70th and Cass.
Larry Jobeun with Bluestone Development tells Newsradio 1110 KFAB they are now moving forward with plans for a new home for the Omaha Conservatory of Music.
"The new plan presents another opportunity that Bluestone is more excited to pursue." Jobeun says plans also call for building 250 apartment units on the west end of the property.
The plans will be shared with the community and will have to go before the Omaha Planning Board and City Council.
Residents of the Fairacres neighborhood expressed concern over the density of the original project and the increased traffic in the area.
