Beginning November 4th residents of Ralston, La Vista and Papillion will have reduced travel times and new routing along 84 Street on Express 93 bus service to downtown Omaha.

The route has been running for many years, but the previous 45 minute travel time has resulted in a significant loss of riders.

Metro Executive Director Curt Simon says the route has been revised and travel time has been reduced to 31 minutes.  He hopes that move will help boost ridership.

"We know there are plenty of people commuting from this area every day" Simon says.  “The faster travel time and revised routing offers a very competitive alternative to driving alone".

To promote the improved service, Metro Transit is offering free rides during the route's opening week of service from Monday, November 4th through Friday, November 8th.

The week day rush hour service has two departure times thirty minutes apart in the morning with the same 30 minute spread for the two return trips in the afternoon.

Metro is also offering two free park and ride locations:  Tara Plaza just north of 84th & Cornhusker Road and CVS Pharmacy at 84th & Harrison.
