The accident happened around 8:00 Friday night near JFK and F Street. Omaha Police say 29-year-old Anastacio Calderon-Colesio was involved in an unrelated accident and then took off on foot.
He jumped over the median barrier and was running across two lanes of interstate when he was hit. Calderon-Colesio was taken to Nebraska Medical Center for treatment of a broken arm and abrasions.
The accident caused serious traffic backups during the investigation. Investigators say alcohol use by Calderon-Colesio is considered a factor. Investigators will be seeking a warrant for DUI relating to him being the driver in the unrelated crash he fled from.
