The Omaha Police Department completed the investigation into an incident at an Omaha Fire Station on July 20th.

Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert issued this statement:

"Shortly after the Omaha Fire Department Investigation into the station house photos started, the city received information that potential criminal activity may be involved in the incident at Station 33 and we were bound to investigate.  After consulting with Police Chief Todd Schmaderer, it was decided the Omaha Police Department would conduct the investigation because of the alleged criminal information.

The investigation into the station house photos is now complete and the Omaha Police Department has determined the information alleging criminal behavior was clearly unsubstantiated.  However, there are possible workplace rules violations that will be forwarded to Fire Chief McDonnell for appropriate disciplinary action if warranted."

The Omaha Police Department and the Mayor's office will have no further comment as this is an internal personnel matter.
