A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday for the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in west Omaha.
The $93 million dollar project is located near 178th and Burke street, just west of Village Pointe.
The facility will focus on brain trauma, spinal cord injury, ventilator management and pediatric rehabilitation.
Unique features of the hospital will include state-of-the-art technology, a large therapy gym, a therapeutic pool, a satellite research institute and a chapel.
Governor Dave Heineman and Mayor Jean Stothert were present as well as hundreds of business leaders and donors.
