Governor Dave Heineman got a first hand look at the damage Tuesday's storm left behind in Blair and Ft. Calhoun.
Several homes, businesses and vehicles were pounded by hail the size of golf and baseballs in Blair. About a dozen people suffered cuts and bruises from flying glass. Mayor Jim Realph says about 75-80 percent of homes and businesses that face north and west had at least one window broken out. Some lost more than that.
Raelph says city hall and a number of downtown businesses had windows broken out. Woodhouse Auto reported 4,500 vehicles were damaged, amounting to more than $152 million in inventory.
