Five people were able to get out of their burning house near 36th and Drexel Wednesday afternoon.  Battalion Chief Chris Dunford says there was a minor explosion that blew out some windows and damaged a door.

The source of that explosion is not yet known.  One of the five people who escaped suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The house sustained heavy smoke, fire and water damage. The American Red Cross is now assisting the family with alternate living arrangements.
