Dogs Rescued From Omaha Home

Dogs Rescued From Omaha Home

A tip to the Nebraska Humane Society sent animal control officers to a home near 10th and Martha Thursday evening.  Spokesman Mark Langan says they rescued two dogs living in horrible conditions.

Langan says animal control had to open a cellar door and climb down a wooden ladder to get to the dogs.  They were in a dirt basement with no lighting.  He says animal waste covered the floor. The dogs had been living in those conditions for several months.

The dogs were taken to the shelter and both are under medical care.  Both were infested with fleas and one was losing hair.

46 year old Barbara Hall and 38 year old Shawn Hall were cited for two counts of animal cruelty and unsanitary conditions.

The Hall's signed ownership of both dogs to NHS.
