The man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday afternoon has been identified as 63 year old Dr. Edward Horowitz. He was a doctor at Creighton University School of Medicine.
Dr. Horowitz was struck near 38th and Dodge around 4:30 p.m. Witnesses told WOWT 6 News the impact sent him into a U-Haul truck, shattering the windshield.
The car that hit him kept going, but was found a short time later at 40th and Harney Police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
The driver, 31-year-old Pedro Diego-Antonio, faces multiple charges, including motor vehicle homicide, felony DUI and leaving the scene of a personal injury collision.
A passenger, 23-year-old Simon Santos-Lorenzo, faces accessory to motor vehicle homicide charges.
