The television show COPS will soon be featuring the Omaha Police Department.

The program shows the day-to-day drama that faces law enforcement. In two weeks, the show is coming to Omaha.

Omaha has turned down the producers of Cops several times, so why the change of mind?  Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer says "the show is the ultimate form of transparency. The men and woman of the Omaha Police department are extremely professional. And I'd like the world to see it."

The new season of COPS is already airing on SPIKE TV. Some of the other police departments to be featured this season include Las Vegas; Glendale, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Lafayette, Louisiana.

COPS is one of the longest running programs in the United States. It’s been on the air since 1989.
