A monthly economic survey to be released Tuesday will some insight into the health of the economy in nine Midwestern and Plains states.

Recent versions of the survey have suggested that healthy economic growth is ahead for the region.

The survey Creighton University economist Ernie Goss oversees relies on input from supply managers and business leaders.

The survey covers Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota.

The survey results from supply managers are compiled into a collection of indexes ranging from zero to 100. Survey organizers say any score above 50 suggests growth, while a score below that suggests decline.
